MRS. RAZZLE'S TEACHER PORTFOLIO
"...there is not a talent, or an aspiration or a joy in me that has not been awakened by her loving touch."
-Helen Keller
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in San Diego California. I spent most of my life around children because my mother ran a home daycare where I often helped out. I knew at the age of nine that I wanted to grow up to be a teacher. I hope to impact students and get them excited about learning the way my third grade teacher did for me. She has been one of my biggest inspirations and I am forever grateful for her help and support when I was struggling.
I was an AVID student in high school and I am a first generation college graduate. I earned my Bachelor's degree in liberal studies with a concentration in speech and communication at California Baptist University in 2012. I received my teaching credential at San Diego State University in 2014.
I was a substitute teacher for the San Diego Unified School District until March of 2015.
In 2015 I moved to Oahu, HI because my then fiancé, now husband, got stationed at Pearl Harbor. Shortly after receiving my Hawaii teaching license, I accepted my first teaching position at Mokapu Elementary teaching third grade.
In 2017 I was substitute teaching for the Windward Kailua-Kalaheo Complex Area. I worked in every grade level classroom, SPED, music, and art.
In 2018 I was working a part time teaching position at Ka'ōhao Public Charter School with SPED students.
In July 2018, I moved to Aurora, Colorado because my husband got accepted into the Skaggs School of Pharmacy. March of 2020 I moved to Thornton, CO and then, as we all know, the COVID-19 pandemic happened and I transitioned from an in-person 1st grade teacher at Hunters Glen Elementary, to a remote 1st grade teacher for 2 schools for the remainder of the school year. I also volunteered to be the remote teacher for the 2020-2021 school year and have learned a lot of new skills.
I am K-6 certified and truly love 1st-3rd grade. (Since our last name is difficult to pronounce, most students call me Mrs. Razzle or Mrs. R.)
